Artism

My contribution to a book called Artism that was sold to raise money for the National Autistic Society in London.

My piece was based on some research that I did about the way autistic individuals perceive verbal and non-verbal cues. What I wanted to represent was the way that people with autism take spoken communication literally without taking into account body language, tone of voice or context cues. So the content of a particular statement may be intended to mean one thing but to someone with autism it may mean the exact opposite.
